Speech Therapy focuses on how a child says sounds and words. This may include working on pronunciation, clarity of speech, voice, or fluency (such as stuttering), so that others can understand your child more easily.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes tools and strategies that help children communicate when speaking is difficult. AAC can support children who are not yet talking, have limited speech, or have trouble being understood. AAC may include things like picture boards, communication books, sign language, or speech-generating devices (such as tablets or dedicated communication devices).

The main goal of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is to help the muscles of the mouth and face work the way they should, so a child’s teeth, jaw, and facial structures can grow and develop in a healthy, typical way.

By improving oral muscle function, myofunctional therapy can support clearer speech, safer swallowing, improved breathing patterns, and long-term oral health. Myofunctional therapy is recommended both before and after lip or tongue tie release procedures.
